I am trying to use Babel and Webpack to build a React app. I know I could use create-react-app but I'd like to learn how these technologies can work together for myself.

When I run yarn run start or yarn run build see package. There are a number of questions on SO regarding this same error, but none of the solutions have solved my problem yet. The broken bundle.

From my limited experience with React, I wish to make the following observations. First to your question regarding devTools and debug. The debug flag for webpack according to their official documentation switches the loaders to debug mode. Then, from what I understand, webpack, when running in a dev environment, does not actually compile the code to hard files, but keeps it in memory.

Thus the source maps are also kept in memory and linked to the browser. You see their effect when you open the browser dev tools and view source.

Now assuming you have the dev server configured correctly, I also assume your index. I know you've already marked this as answered, but since you're trying to learn the in's and out's of webpack et al Your original problem was that you needed to specify the output. So, you don't even have to use "dist". For example, if you used Latest Tags Contact Us.

Code package. Also, I have yet to find the proper incantation of devtools and debug properties in my Webpack config to actually get source maps working. I don't yet see them in the compiled output. EDIT The broken bundle.

Where do you place waves. Because You should place the script before calling Waves. If you're using angular. But if you still see the error, please create a fiddle of it, so I can easily to check it out. I use libs googlemap, googleads, underscore, boba, bootstrap, and more.

I think that it could be a name collision issue. For instance, there is an object named "global" in the waves's code.

Try using namespaces on your code. Good to hear that. I guess it's meant to pass global instead of window when running the code in Node. Browserify has the same issue and accompanying PR. See here for my comment about the issue in NW. But while I understand why Browserify has this, I'm not sure why Waves needs it.

Why would you want to have Node's global passed to the factory? It only uses it as a fallback for DOM elements, so passing global doesn't look like it is useful. Maybe Narsul can help, since he is the author of the code.

On the contrary, in dev mode, all seems to work. I'm quite lost. The blob below is requested by mapbox-gl-js, as I see it when looking into network tab in chrome dev tools. Can someone shed some light on this? This has probably nothing to do with mapbox-gl, hasn't it?

I would guess not. I ran into the same thing - very strange. No, I didn't investigate further, for the moment. So the error went away but I'm still a bit worried about it as I don't know why this happened. Unfortunately, as I have other things on my plate for now, I will be able to dig deeper in a couple of weeks at the earliest.

However, if I find out something I am going to post it here. Discussion seems to continue here: I ran into the same issue, and changing devTool: 'source-map' to eval or false did not initially work with Webpack 2.

Updated it to 2. I'm still not sure what the issue is, though. What are those "blobs" mentioned in the error? Is mapbox trying to load some JS from somewhere that has to match some global variables declared in their scripts? PS: Another way to make the error go away and still use sourcemaps is to set the sourceMap options for uglify plugin to true.

Can someone please explain, thanks. But, I found a working solution here: comment.
